Brief info

He is currently Head of Charity of Leaders in Community (LiC); a youth led, Tower Hamlets based charity of which he was a founding member in 2006. He has over 10 years’ experience of working in the charity sector, empowering young people in leadership and governance.

He also helped set up and manage a community interest company (Leaders in Community CIC) in addition to the charity, which further enables him to support local young people coming from marginalised communities across London. The CIC works very closely with both LBTH Community Safety as well as LTBH Safer Neighbourhood Board and is actively contributing towards reducing crime and ASB in the Borough.

His work involves giving young people a voice and ensuring they are equipped to challenge any inequalities they face. He is passionate about promoting grassroots community involvement, cohesion and activism.

His team has raised over 2 million in grants for the charity and has enjoyed success in bringing in corporate partners to help the charity reach a wider audience. The programmes he has helped to pioneer and develop has earned Leaders in Community the Queen’s Award in recognition of LiC’s services to young people and the wider community.
